Chair Makers

Gardner, Massachusetts The beginnings.

I'm known for wandering the streets looking for something interesting. Something different. A place that very probably has a story to tell.
I was spending the summer in New England several years ago.
To quantify, this region does hold a special place in my heart.
I was stationed in Northern Maine, Loring Air Force Base, Limestone.
Quite a shock for a boy pretty much raised on the "Dangling Participle" of the States. (I know that doesn't make sense, or does it)...sounds about right though.
During one if these wanderings I came across this collection  of abandoned buildings. (I later learned these were furniture manufacturing companies) Long ago shuttered and abandoned.
Well, to my surprise there was this stand alone, (obviously antique building). There were several cars parked in the old cracked asphalt parking lot. On the exteriors: Wayside Furniture Co. & Curcio Inc. Chair Manufacturers.
I pulled in, grabbed my gear...Did what I'm compelled to do.
